Does it hurt?
Everyone’s pain threshold is different, for most it can be uncomfortable, however I do use anaesthetic to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. I would describe Microblading as a little ‘scratchy’ rather than painful. Most people don’t feel much at all once the anaesthetic is applied. I do recommend that you try to avoid having a treatment if you are pre-menstrual as the skin is far more sensitive during this time.
IS IT SAFE?
All my pigments are pharmaceutical grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The ingredients used have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. In addition, all my tools are single-use and discarded after the treatment. I am highly trained and experienced professional and safety of my clients is one of the most important aspects.
CAN I HAVE FACIAL BEFORE MICROBLADING?
Please avoid facials at least two weeks before Microblading. Some intensive facial treatments can make your skin thinner and more sensitive, resulting in more bleeding which can affect color retention. Wait two weeks after Microblading before doing facials, to allow the brow to fully heal.
WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE PROCEDURE?
Microblading is not suitable for the following candidates: Have heart conditions or using heart medications. Have diabetes (will require a physician's note). Have skin disease or irritations. Have had anti-wrinkle Injections in the last 3 weeks. Are pregnant. Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peel in the last 3 weeks Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note.
* I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone I deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason.
WHAT IF I DO NOT LIKE IT?
As with all cosmetic procedures, individuals should not make their choices lightly. I always recommend clients to do their research, understand the procedure and compare different artists' work and portfolios when making their decisions. I will do my upmost to shape and style the eyebrows to the clients satisfaction prior to the procedure. Every effort will be made to achieve an even appearance, but please realise our faces are never perfectly symmetrical. Uneven appearance can be fixed during the touch-up session. Pigment discoloration and colour correction can also be fixed during the touch-up session. Microbladed brows will eventually fade away if no additional touch ups are done.
HOW WILL I LOOK DIRECTLY AFTERWARDS?
Most of my clients look perfectly normal after the treatment, if you are prone to rosacea or have very sensitive skin, you may look a little red around the area for a couple of hours afterwards but this will fade quickly. Most people resume normal activities directly after the session.
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING TAKE TO HEAL?
Your brows will go through a number of changes as you heal, they will appear a little darker around day 4/5 and then fade during the second week, this is due to the pigment being ‘hidden’ by the healing skin and is nothing to worry about. During the 3rd week, the colour will bloom back and by week 4 you will have your healed result. You should expect some light shedding but nothing more and you will lose around 30% of the pigment after your first treatment which will be reapplied at your control session.
WHO IS IT GOOD FOR?
Microblading is a great option for almost anyone looking for a hyper-realistic brow. It is perfect for those looking to fill out over plucked or sparse brows or anyone who has Alopecia or hair loss following chemotherapy. Other options such as hair stoke brows/powder brow may be better if you are extremely oily or have a medical condition that would not suit microblading. Your practitioner will advise you on which option would be best for you.
WHAT IF I’M NERVOUS?
It’s perfectly normal to be a little nervous before your treatment, especially if you haven’t had any semi-permanent makeup previously. I understand that this is a big step for a lot of clients and hope that you feel as at ease as possible, I am here to help so please do ask me if you have any questions or concerns at all.
